We made the big move in 2021. We uprooted our family and left everything and everyone we know to start a new adventure. Why?? Because we are dreamers, and wanted to make our dreams a reality. What’s the dream? Small town living, slow paced life, and seemingly endless outdoor recreational opportunities! So here we are, hours away with no regrets, starting from scratch and loving every minute of it!

 

We are Kristin and Kevin Schmidt. We have 5 kids ranging from 9 years old to 6 months. We got married  a little over 10 years ago and promised each other that life would always be an adventure! Kevin works from home running his electrical engineering consulting firm. Kristin, a stay at home mom who, with the move, quit her part time job as a Hair Stylist and is now homeschooling our children. 

 

So, why start a blog? Well, not because we think we are super interesting and that we are doing anything extraordinary. We are just an ordinary family that lives on a budget, tries to keep a clean house, loves God and all his wonders he has for us to explore. But we are now at a stage where our kids are ready to go on bigger and better adventures! Join us as we learn and talk about all things family adventure, the good, the tough and the crazy! As we live out our dreams of hunting, fishing, gardening, homesteading, camping and so much more! We all know it's easy to get stuck in the day to day life of cleaning, cooking and just trying to raise a family, this blog will push us to keep the adventures going by helping to hold us accountable, push us out of our comfort zone, and hopefully connect us with others in the same position. We hope to share not only our success, but laugh at some of our failures.  We will be sharing our new experiences, as we are learning much of this as we go. This will include trip planning, personal growth, hunting and fishing stories, starting our homestead with little to no knowledge or resources and gear reviews.
